This is a social group for mature, child-free women who are interested in meeting other like-minded ladies for friendship and fun. Being child-free affords us the ability to be spontaneous, and often even have more disposable income to do fun things. Let's get together and take advantage of those two perks!
Regardless of if your child-free status is by choice or by chance, you are welcome to be a part of this group! That said, please know that for the purpose of this group, we are defining 'Child-Free' as the following: "Not having children of ANY kind" (i.e. no grown children, no grand children, no step-children, no adoptive children etc). Being child-free means that you are not, never were, and do not intend to become a parent". This group's definition of child-free is NOT up for debate.
Don't get us wrong, we've got nothing against moms or children. Moms are awesome and kids can be great too. We love our friends who have kids, we just don't want to hear about them ALL the time. That said, there are plenty of meet-up groups out there that are geared towards women with children. Further, there are also meet-up groups that are geared towards step-parents, adoptive parents, and empty-nesters. That's not US. That's not THIS group. This is a chance to socialize with child-free folks and hopefully create meaningful friendships. We're child-free, we're loving it, and this group is just for us!
1.) Be kind and courteous to each other, both on-line and in person
2.) Keep your RSVP status current for meet-up events. Repeated last minute RSVP changing and no-showing is tacky, and it makes things difficult on folks. Please don't be THAT person.
3.) Do not use this group as a means of trying to sell any sort of a product or service. Do not spam group members, and do not try to pitch any MLM business. That sort of nonsense will not be tolerated, and will get you booted from the group immediately.
1.) Please consider suggesting or hosting events. It is not required, but highly encouraged
2.) Please consider making some sort of an occasional financial contribution (either in person, or on-line via the green 'chip in' icon on the left side of the 'members' page) toward the fees that are associated with running a meet-up group. Meetup.com charges the organizer of this group $89.94 twice a year (in April and in October), and while this group's organizer is more than happy to do what she does to bring together local child-free women for friendship and fun, she would also be more than happy to accept any donations that group members might feel inclined to make in order to keep this group up and running.
