Some of us are running the Run to the Rock 1/2 Marathon in a few weeks on September 7th - and we all know the 'fun' part of that race is the miles through good ol' Myles Standish State Forest - those hills! :P
We're going to do a training run through Myles Standish this Saturday morning on the part of the route of the half marathon that runs through the State Forest, with a little bit extra thrown in for 'fun' on Alden Road (the main road in and out of the forest from Long Pond Road).
We will meet at the East Entrance to the forest (at Long Pond Road), and then proceed on our route, running the rolling hills of Alden Road to Lower College Pond Road. On Lower College Pond Road, we'll pass the starting point for the race. We will continue on Lower College Pond Road until we reach Halfway Pond Road, which we will then take to Upper College Pond Road. From there we will continue back to Alden Road and the park entrance.
If you participate in this run, please be sure to have plenty of water and bug repellent with you with you. The course will be approximately 9 miles round trip.
Be prepared to do this run at your own pace, but if you finish your run before the organizers do, please check in so that we know you have finished safely.
