Geology Story

Learn about the geologic history of the McDowell Mountains by actually looking at it. We’ll discuss some basic concepts, examine the bedrock of the mountains, and look at huge folds in the rock created more than a billion years ago. Allow 3 hours for this less-than 5-mile loop hike that climbs about 600 feet over a mountain pass.
