  • Honoring the Ancestors Red Thread Circle
In many cultures, Fall is a time to recall the ones who came before us, the ancestors. • Red Thread Reiki 1
When a friend or family member is suffering physically or emotionally, do you wish there was 'something more' you could do? When I first began offering massage in the early 1980s, I often felt that way! Massage is awesome, but, .... I was led to Reiki in 1989, & my question was answered - "YES, there's something more, and it energizes the 'giver' as well as the receiver!" Win-win! During that first class, I knew I wanted to open the Reiki Door for others, and I completed Reiki Master training in 1991. In Red Thread Reiki I, you will be initiated in Traditional hands on Usui Reiki, and participate in a Red Thread Ceremony & project. This class includes: • Red Thread ceremony, claiming your piece of thread • History of Reiki • Uses and techniques • Reiki for oneself and others • Boundaries and recharge • Reiki Precepts Principles • Self-Reiki • Practice sessions • Atunement to Reiki • Reiki booklet and completion Homework. · 2017 Event host Patricia Couch with her Reiki precept flags A Chinese legend tells us we are connected before birth to those whom we're destined to meet by an invisible Red Thread. Through out our lives, the thread may twist, stretch and tangle, but will never break. We each hold, and are responsible for our own piece of this thread. Reiki comes to us from Japan, & has its roots in Qigong from China, & Tibetan teachings as well. Red Thread Creativity projects support integration and use of Reiki. We will meet from 1-5 Thursday, and 1-5 Sunday. Please arrive a little early to settle in, and bring a lunch on Saturday. 9 CEUs for LMTs. Your investment for Reiki 1 is $150- thereafter. Youth 12 -20: $100- $25 deposit to hold your place · write Nadya: [masked] to register If you are involved in healthcare in any capacity, you will love adding Reiki to your personal medicine basket, both for your clients and yourself! Reiki offers an instant recharge, you will often feel more energy by the end of the day! If you are sensitive to energy, and easily overwhelmed, Reiki often helps mitigate that, and you're better able to function in groups. You'll be given tools to maintain your energy field. And finally, if you're a musician, artist or in public service, you can use Reiki to energize your offerings. Reiki Refresher - if you've already taken Reiki I or higher, you are welcome to join our workshop to reconnect with Reiki and share your experiences & skills. $35- audit fee. It was common for Dr. Usui and Hayashi Sensei to attune Reiki practitioners each time they attended Reiki gatherings. Nadya King, LMT 1671, has been a Massage Therapist since 1983, and a Reiki Master and Harper for 26 years. She will offer Reiki 2 this summer. • Red Thread Circle - Witness Tree
What are you here to Cause and Create? You are invited to join us, and explore this inquiry in this month's Red Thread Circle.* A Witness Tree is a solitary tree amid remote or wide open landscape. Usually a witness tree has been around for many hundreds of years and is the only witness to the history in that area. Everyone wants to be heard, to be witnessed, and to connect with others. Each of us has a cause, wish or dream, even when we're not sure what it is. Your invited to create your own witness tree, on paper or in your art journal, to witness what you bring to the circle. What feeds your roots? What practices bring you present? What feed gratitude? I'll provide Tea and snacks, a simple project & sisterhood. Bring your journal, and favorite simple craft supplies if you wish. • Red Thread Circle - Rose Beads
For centuries, we're enjoyed roses, and saved flowers from special occasions. Have you wished there was a way you could capture the fragrance summer's favorite flower? *The Rose,* by Ann Mayhew, illustrated by Michael Pollard, includes "myths, Folklore and Legend." Ann writes, "The rosary is believed to have originated in the Orient, and is used as a devotional aid in many religions. ...In the East, Rose-beads are still made. Dried rose petals are crushed to powder, moistened with rose water and formed into pellets, which are strung, dried and polished, ready for use." Growing up, we had a rose bead necklace my grandmother Mary made decades before, and I made the inner necklace pictured in the 70s. Over the years, I've perfected the method, and love sharing this ancient practice! You're invited to Join us and learn to crease beads of your own. I provide Tea and snacks, a simple project & sisterhood. **In Red Thread Circles, we come together and interweave the common threads of our stories. • Red Thread Circle - Medicine Basket
What's in your Medicine Basket? Time out of mind, many turned to Medicine Women for healing body, mind and Spirit. They knew certain women carried the healing wisdoms of their ancestors. Each of these healers had their own special bag or basket of medicine. These medicine bags or baskets held herbs, crystals, a drum or rattle, a chant, feather, and perhaps a red thread to support a return to wholeness. My grandmother knew herbal remedies, to help family and friends when ill, she could give a good back rub, and share a pot of tea with neighbors. I don't know if she spun, but she made quilts with carded wool, using the cards her mama's family brought on the wagon train. I spin, gather and use herbs, make flower essences, play harp, drum, and share my creative spark, ... what are some of your gifts? You're invited to Join us for creativity and a Red Thread Circle,** and name some of our medicine gifts. Bring your journal &/or a favorite small vessel or basket!
