What we're about

Join a different kind of conversation – one that welcomes every perspective in a search for the deeper spiritual truths that unite us. All are welcome regardless of background or belief. There are no group membership dues or fees and donations will not be accepted.

About us:

Inspired by similar meetup groups across the country, we have started our own group here in Dallas as an act of service to our community with the goal of creating (with your help!) a space for deeper conversation, connection, reflection, and action. Individuals of all ages, backgrounds, and beliefs gather together each week to explore uplifting (and sometimes challenging) topics and to engage respectfully and civilly in elevated conversations, inquiry, consultation, and mutual learning. Using short selections from the Bahá'í teachings as a starting point, we hope to grow together and learn from one another as we seek to build bridges of unity and respect for all humanity.

Please note: attendees under the age of 18 must have a guardian with them.

Free Online Event | Mind Full or Mindful?

Online event

They say you are what you eat, but is this also true for everything we’re taking in? Does what we watch, read, see, hear, and even buy affect us not just on an emotional and psychological level but also spiritually? If so, can we change what we’re feeding ourselves to better “fill” our minds and nourish our spiritual health?

Part of being human is taking in stimuli from outside of ourselves – while some of this is out of our control, some is due to the choices we make. Just as we can make choices to better balance our physical diet and fill our bodies with nourishment, can we also do the same for our souls? Can we limit consuming “spiritual junk food” that might negatively impact our spiritual development and growth and instead cultivate spiritual habits that will help us to flourish? Can we even tell whether something really nourishes us or is filling us but not sustaining us, better taken in moderation – or maybe not at all? Avoiding an all-or-nothing approach, can we be more thoughtful not only about our own actions, but also about the role our communities, environment and the intangible materials we consume play in supporting our individual and collective spiritual health?

Come join a different kind of conversation – one that welcomes every perspective in a search for the truths that unite us all – as we discuss the spiritual perspective offered by the Bahá’í Teachings on what it looks like to feed the soul. Please join us for a lively discussion as we explore how tending to our spiritual health can be a step in the journey toward building spiritually robust communities.

“I beseech Thee, O my God...to nourish their souls with what Thou hast ordained for Thy loved ones on whom shall come no fear and who shall not be put to grief.” – Bahá’í Teachings

Free Online Event | In Search of a Moral Economy

Online event

Is there such a thing as a just, equitable and even moral economy?

Whatever our personal values or system of beliefs, many would agree that how we interact with our fellow human beings should reflect certain core values such as kindness, honesty, fairness and compassion. But if that is how we interact with each other individually, then should those same values also inspire our economic systems?

Typically economies are talked about in terms of theories, policies or statistics. But isn’t our economic system also a reflection of our values or, if not, shouldn’t it be? Do we create our economic systems or do they create us? Do the choices we’re currently making (or failing to make) truly reflect our values? More often than not, the determining question asks what is good for my bottom line – as an individual, as an organization, as a society. And the determining answer is usually whatever yields the highest dollar amount. But what if what is good for the collective also happens to be good for the individual? What if as a society, we judged ourselves not on the wealth of our richest, but by the comfort of our poorest? What if our decisions were made not based on principles of scarcity, but on spiritually founded principles of love, justice, and our essential oneness?

Come join a different kind of conversation – one that welcomes every perspective in a search for the deeper truths that unite us – as we discuss the spiritual perspective offered by the Bahá’í teachings on the need for an economy driven by morality. Please join us for a lively discussion as we explore how an economy based on spiritual principles can allow for the conditions needed for all of humanity to reach its full and true prosperity.
