How did you hear about this group?

via Earthsave

What's your favourite vegetarian restaurant in Greater Vancouver?

No fav. but I'm really enjoying the raw restaurants Organic Lives and Gorilla Foods [both closed now, aaw~]. Meet on Main is a fun-food place to go. Love all the asian-vegan restaurants. I don't think I've ever been to a vegan/vegetarian restaurant where I said that I won't go back again -- oh, yes, I did... Veggie Bunch in Richmond - not going back.

What's your favourite Greater Vancouver non-veg restaurant that has veg options?

Um... Well, that's a tough one as I live in a dead-zone as far as restaurants that serve any kind of good food, veg or not. I guess Hon's would be one, if you like Chinese cafeteria fast food, which I do from time to time. Update: there's Chomp vegan eatery now, in PoMo. Home-cooked kind of food. [Chomp is gone, moved to Vancouver].

WHICH describes how you eat: omnivore (meat, fish, dairy, eggs, produce etc.) vegetarian (no meat/fish), vegan (no meat, fish, dairy, eggs), pescaterian (fish but no meat), flexitarian (usually veg, but not always), or raw foodist?

I say "vegan", but really I'm just trying to be as natural a human as I can in this modern world. Changed my diet/lifestyle in my late teens.

Do you follow Earthsave Canada (, the charity that promotes the plant based diet?

I used to be. No point anymore. All of the info people would obtain from EarthSave regarding how our diet affects the environment, our health, and the animals is readily available on the net. It filled a void for many years, but no longer. The only thing we need now it a place to meet other like-minded people, hence this Meatless Meetup. I was involved with Earthsave since the early 90s; was out-of-the-loop for a few years; decided to get re-involved and back into he veg social scene in 2009, and I'm glad I did -- I've met so many great new people and reconnected with others.

Vegan since 1990 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ A few of the things I like to do are road cycling, hiking, and badminton.
