‘Medical Kitchen Wisdom’ is a unique endeavour aiming to combine modern medical and nutritional knowledge with wisdom. Wisdom which can be found in the past and the present, the East and the West and in ordinary and extraordinary people. Medical wisdom which, is grounded in real understanding of the importance of food and cooking, is rare in our days. We want to resurrect the understanding of ancient Hippocratic practice which proclaimed that ‘Food is Medicine’. We aim to use the scientific findings of 21st century to help everyone find their way back to the kitchen and enjoy cooking good food for their health. We will combine this with literature, poetry, folk wisdom, recipes for cooking and of course stories. Everybody has a story to share when it comes to food and cooking. From William Shakespeare’s “Unquiet meals make ill digestions” to William Makepeace Thackeray’s “Sir, Respect your Dinner: Idolise it, enjoy it properly. You will be many hours in the week, many weeks in the year and, many years in your life happier if you do” and Sophia Loren’s “The most indispensable ingredient of all good home cooking is love for those you are cooking for” this group is open to those who want to • learn, share and connect • be part of a community of nutritional medicine knowledge seekers and collectors of kitchen stories
