“Wheel of Life: Freedom from Daily Problems”
The Wheel of Life is a diagram drawn by Buddha that teaches the complete path to enlightenment. Included within it are Buddha’s teachings on the Four Noble Truths, telling us what we should know, abandon, practise, and attain. It also illustrates the twelve dependent-related links, a chain-like series of cause and effect that explains the means by which we have been bound to suffering. All of our suffering, difficulties, and problems can be explained through understanding this teaching of Buddha. Through contemplating and meditating on the Wheel of Life, we can break free from this cycle and experience permanent freedom and happiness.
This special day course will be divided into three sessions, with breaks in between to relax and reflect. There will also be opportunities to ask questions. The cost of the course also includes wholesome, delicious refreshments. Lunch can be purchased at one of the many eateries in the local vicinity.
Everyone is warmly welcomed, including people of all spiritual inclinations, as well as those with no spiritual background and complete beginners.
The teachings will be based on those from the renowned Buddhist Master, Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso Rinpoche, founder of the New Kadampa Tradition. The course will be led by special international Guest Teacher, Gen Losang Kelsang.
Gen Losang was ordained as a Buddhist monk in 1983. He spent several years in retreat under the guidance of Geshe Kelsang, and later went on to teach Buddhism in many countries around the world. Until recently, he was leading the Kadampa International Retreat Centre in the Swiss mountains. As one of Geshe Kelsang’s most senior students, Gen Losang has a great depth of understanding of Buddha’s teachings and is very skilful in sharing them in a practical, approachable, and light-hearted manner. This one-off visit to Osaka is most certainly not one to be missed!
