Starting this fall, a new series on meditation for anxiety. You don't have to be an acute anxiety sufferer for this class to be useful. Maybe you've been wanting to get the physical and mental benefits of meditation into your life but don't quite know how? If the feeling that you have to quiet your mind or get a new religion before you learn to meditate has put you off, this class is for you. You won't have to empty your mind, sit on the floor, or have a new belief system to learn how to bring the many benefits of meditation into your life.
Classes are $10 to $15 per class, sliding scale. We'll be meeting at The Lincoln Street Church 5145 SE Lincoln @ Madison on Wednesday evenings from 6:45pm to 7:45 and at the Mad/50 Loft on 50th and Madison (the totem pole house at 1332 SE 50th) on bi or tri monthly Sunday mornings. (see calendar)
I'm a daily meditator who has had very good teachers and now I'm trained in teaching, too. I have a very keen interest in lessening the suffering in this world by teaching meditation and making it a simple, easy, and accessible for everyone.
The classes will be drop- in, on a rolling series schedule: whatever you didn't get last time will come back around again. Classes are for beginners. I am very happy and excited to teach those who thought they couldn't meditate because of a busy mind or don't have a lot of experience meditating. I can make one guarantee: you will never regret learning how to meditate.
*This is not a silent meditation class, Buddhist Sangha, or a free class.*
Classes will include body relaxation, focus on the breath, silent mantra, heart centered meditations, finding peace in the moment, contemplative meditations and instructions on how to bring the physical and mental benefits of meditation into your everyday life in multiple and simple ways. Hope to see you in class! I would would be happy to email with you, speak on the phone. Please feel free to contact me www.meditatepdx.com Myla 503-490-2362 firstname.lastname@example.org
