This group is centered around guided meditation with very gentle yoga asana or physical poses to prepare for the meditation. We will start each class with a gentle warm up series of poses that can be done in a chair or on the ground then transition to a seated meditation. Typically, we then come lying on our backs for the last 15 to 20 minutes for a guided relaxation/meditation however, this can be done seated if one is more comfortable. Breathwork or pranyama is incorporated into the entire practice.

The practices are typically done on the floor, but can be modified in a chair. They are accessible to anyone from teens to those in triple digits!

I would recommend bringing a cushion! We do have one or two extra as well as a couple of chairs.

My name is Ainsley Rudra Priya Waken and I lead the practices. I have been teaching yoga since graduating with my 200 E-RYT from Kashi Atlanta's classical yoga teacher training in 2017. I developed, lead, and teach through a program with Georgia's Department of Juvenile Justice through Kashi Atlanta that has expanded to two facilities in the metro area since July 2017; I regularly teach at The Classroom at Flo2s, substitute yoga classes at the facilities at Mercer University, Tucker Rec, and Kashi Atlanta; and continue to study under Swami Jaya Devi at Kashi Atlanta as well as through the variety of teachers and offering via The Yoga Alliance.

We begin each class with 15 to 20 minutes of gentle warm ups and twists that could easily be done in a chair, but we typically do seated on our mat floors. We then move to our cushions for our first of two guided meditations that transition to silence. You will not be disappointed and the price cannot be beat! The class lasts 1 hour. Cost is $15. Please bring a cushion and/or yoga mat.
