People have been practicing meditation for centuries. Today we see a surge in its popularity as new benefits continue to be discovered. Meditation has been proven to benefit both our bodies and minds. Many are now realizing an additional advantage — the tremendous benefits spiritual meditation has for our soul.
Meditation for Spiritual Awareness Meetup is open to people of all faiths and backgrounds, and to all who are interested in meditation. Whether you are starting out and want to explore this further, or have been meditating for years, these Meetups aim at increasing our understanding of the technique and improving our practices.
We meet on the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th Sundays of each month in Charlottesville. All of these events are sponsored by Science of Spirituality and are free of cost. Science of Spirituality is a worldwide spiritual organization dedicated to transforming lives through meditation, under the direction of Sant Rajinder Singh Ji Maharaj. More information can be found at www.sos.org
Does it Cost Anything to Learn this Meditation?
All programs sponsored by Science of Spirituality are also free.
Do I Need to Learn Yoga in Order to Meditate?
Unlike some forms of yoga, this meditation technique does not involve difficult practices or rigorous postures. We can meditate when sitting in any pose that is comfortable, in which we can sit still for an extended period of time. Meditation on the inner Light and Sound is so simple it can be practiced by anyone.
Can we Remain in Our Religion and Practice this Meditation?
The spiritual teachers of this path never advocate that we change our religion or withdraw from the world to practice meditation. Meditation is a basic element of all traditions and supports all faiths.
