About the Organizers
Jon and Sonya Tyler, are gamers (board and video) and have been married for over 10 years. They believe folks should have fun - and what better way to spread a little joy than to sit down and play games with friends. Their goal is to create a setting to learn new games, play some favorites and share some laughs over a little friendly competition.

What types of games will we play?
When you see “board games” you might think “Monopoly, Sorry and Operation” and sure, the classics are still great fun. But there are a ton of new and exciting games that have hit the shelves in the last several years that bring a whole new meaning to gaming. We’re excited to introduce some of our games to others, and hopefully, have members bring some of their games to share on game night. Check out our Games List for more info (coming soon).

How will I know what games are being played?
We plan to list a couple of gaming options for each meet up. It will include a link for a “how to play” video if one is available. We find that these videos are great for learning a game quickly and are less frustrating than trying to read an instruction manual. At the start of a game, we’ll still do an overview (but it will save time if you’re prepared).

What if I don't like the game you are playing?
You are welcome to bring along a game you would like to introduce to the group as well. Since we may not know the size of the group attending, there will be several options available and more than one game can be played simultaneously during the meet up.

How long will each meet up last?
Typically, a gaming evening will run two -three hours depending on what’s being played, set up, tear down, etc. Members are not required to stay the whole time.

Will there be snacks/food?
It depends on the meeting location. We are working on finding a location that serves food, so that you may order what you would like. We do ask that there be no food or drinks during gaming (to protect the games), however, we will take a break halfway through for snacks/drinks.

Is there a cost?
There is no cost to join the group or for playing games at the meeting. As organizers of OGG, we pay a monthly administration fee to MeetUp. If anyone feels they are enjoying the group, and want to donate a few bucks towards that admin fee - that would be appreciated.

Are children invited?
Our intent is to provide a family-friendly setting for game play. Although there are no age limitations, we do ask that children attending are mature and responsible. And this includes big kids - we ask for each member to be respectful to others and the games provided. Please note, most of our games suggest an age of 12 years and older.

Housekeeping Notes
Everything will be set up for our group at our start time. After introductions, we’ll get started. Once gaming is over, we will provide an inventory check list of the games that were played that evening, so we can quickly run through it to make sure all items are placed back in the box (so it will be complete and ready for it’s next adventure). Anyone bringing their own game to a group night will be responsible for their game.

Can't find your question here - feel free to message us and we’ll get back to you as soon as we can.
