What we're about
Upcoming events (4)
This time we will start from the end. We will meet at Thea Coffea in Nottingham city centre and enjoy a cup of tea (or coffee) together. I would like this to be a chance for some of us (especially beginners) to talk about expectations from this group, share ideas for next events, suggest helpful activities to improve the effectiveness of this group. Beginners can also have to chance to ask technical questions or to share their "weaknesses" so that we can address them in some of the next events. Bring along your cameras, or phones, as after the chat we will move out in the (hopefully) sun and take a photo walk. Ideally this can be a learning occasion for beginners. Particularly for those that I hugely disappointed at the University Park event. By the way, I intended this event to be on Sunday 21st July. If it doesn't match, please let me know. ;) Also, I will try to book a table, as soon as I have an idea on how many people plan to show up. If you sign up and then have a last minute issue, remember to update your RSVP. I hope to see many of you next Sunday. Alessandro
The annual Nottingham Pride march takes place in Nottingham City Centre on Saturday 28th July 2018, starting at 11am. As in previous years, the Pride march will leave from outside Marks and Spencer on the corner of Lister Gate and Castle Gate. The route then takes revellers through the city centre to Hockley where the event will continue with live entertainment, music and art up to 6.30pm. This is another great chance to get your camera out and take some photos. unfortunately I won’t be able to attend this Meetup as I will be on holiday. If anybody would like to be the event host please contact me. looking forwards to seeing your photos.
The magic of Thailand comes to Nottingham on Saturday 10th and Sunday 11th August with traditional food and drink, spectacular music and dance shows, Thai boxing demonstrations, lady boy shows, traditional costume parades and if it all gets to much for you a Thai massage. All This means lots more photo opportunities. All this for the princely sum of £5. The Forest recreation ground (goose fair site) can be easily reached via the tram network.I am guessing they are fencing of an area of grassland in the centre, I suggest we meet at the entrance. Nottingham vintage carnival. On Saturday 31st August from 11am to 6pm, Nottingham racecourse will be transformed into a wonderful one-day vintage festival – expect everything from tonnes of top-notch shopping, two stages of live music, free dance classes, a huge classic car display, a traditional Ferris Wheel and carnival games, Street food served from vintage vehicles, cute bars, workshops, a photo booth and lots more! This means lots of photo opportunities. Entry cost is £10 on the day, I am unsure of any onsite parking costs as I have never been to this event or location before, I suggest we meet at the entrance and take it form there we can either stay in a group or split up which is what seems to happen.
