Yes, it's what you've been waiting for! Finally a meetup for people who hate people! Wait, what? It's not that we hate people, we just see them as inherently flawed. Here is the gist of the group:

Who are we? - We are like Neo from the Matrix...we know something is amiss in the world. We think society is dysfunctional and all hope for a Utopia is lost. It's not that we are morbid, jaded or negative.....we are realists. We are cynics. We see our leaders (and the elite) and even most of the general public as self-serving. It's not that there is no good in man, it's just that the good there is is overshadowed by the less redeeming qualities. We still appreciate connections with the other humanoids. We seek collaboration and synergy. We are artists, photographers, activists, savants, avant-gardists, poets, philosophers, musicians, experimental performers and fringe dwellers. We are modern-day Dada/Fluxus. For us, life and art are inseperable.

Why do we meet? - We meet to share ideas, tell stories, discuss topics, present our artistic projects, articulate our vision. We meet because we are tired of not having an outlet or a group where we can interact with others of like-mind. We want to get away from our idealist friends, family and coworkers and hang out with people who share our sarcastic view on life.

Where do we meet? - Cafes, concert halls, bars, parks, live performances, cultural events, and out of the city.

What goes on at a meetup? - Of course we will discuss interesting topics like philosophy, sociology, politics, psychology, esoteric topics, conspiracy theories (not that we are conspiracy theorists), etc. Being that we are experimental artists (not a prerequisite for membership) we will share our art with the group. Feel free to bring a piece you are working on or selling, an album for sale, a performance to promote, even a product you're hawking (please don't show up with organic skin lotions that go for $99 for a 6 oz bottle).

If we get a good synergy going maybe we can create our own "happening". This is the group for the cynic, the outsider, the loner, those who feel more comfortable on the fringe of society. No one will be forced to contribute, if you want to sit there looking weird by saying nothing go right ahead, it's a totally laid-back atmosphere. But, being that we are a commune of creative and opinionated visionaries, rest assured it will always be interesting!
