Note for tomorrow (Sat): yes, rain is forecast, but we will have the ride anyway. Rain should be intermittent, rather than continuous, so we’ll dodge the showers, and go as far as we can.
Bailout would involve riding back to Sandringham, or on to Dandenong, so we’ll keep a close eye on the weather/weather forecast.
BRING RAIN GEAR!!
Still: Meet at the cafe above, to leave at 10:00 am. It’s opposite Sandringham Station, with space for bike parking nearby.
Trains from Flinders St to Sandringham every 20 mins - no timetable disruptions recorded currently, but check on the day!
Note that busses replace trains on part of the Frankston line (parts close to our ride), so no trains available for bailouts!
Fairly easy social ride, mainly on bike paths. Some wetlands views. Some gravel paths but no steep hills.
About 35 km, but options to continue north to Jells Park or further (not part of the official ride).
Probably aim for the A1 Bakery (Lebanese cafe and deli) for lunch, or at least to get supplies.
Trains available at Dandenong Station - no works on this line recorded for 15/2.
Ride Leader: John Hughes

It's your responsibility to check the temperature and distance for the day and carry an appropriate amount of water. When riding outside suburbia remember that carrying too much water is better than not enough as the distances between water availability may vary greatly from the planned route due to road closures or other unforeseen circumstances.
Check your app for any changes two hours before a day ride, or two days before a multi day ride as the ride may be cancelled in the event of extreme weather or other unforeseen circumstances.
If you cannot make it to the ride please change your RSVP to 'NO' within a reasonable time.
