Please note: Members who have RSVPd to this presentation will be given priority for the session, other Code Mentoring members are welcome to attend if space permits. If there is enough interest I will arrange a second presentation.
This weekend I’ll be doing a presentation about microservice architecture, trunk based development, domain driven design, test driven development and behaviour driven development.
This presentation is aimed at new and junior developers as an introduction to best practices that can be observed and practiced in development teams.
The presentation will assume some knowledge around agile methodologies, and basic git concepts such as pull requests. If you want some help with these concepts I’ll be available at the normal Code Mentoring meetup on 15th June 2019 (https://www.meetup.com/Melbourne-Code-Mentoring-Web-Development-Design/events/hpbprqyzjbtb/). To get the most value from this presentation you’ll need an understanding that “best practice” doesn’t always match corporate realities, a desire to learn and improve, and the ability to apply concepts to your particular skill-set.
I’ll begin the presentation with a high level overview of each of the 5 concepts, and then wrap them all together to help you understand how they can be combined to make your development tasks easier.
As this is my first ever meetup presentation I’ll be keeping the floor open to questions throughout the presentation, and I’m more than happy to discuss these concepts after the presentation or at future Code Mentoring meetups.
I'd like to thank my employer, MessageMedia (https://www.messagemedia.com), for providing me with the time to create this presentation; and General Assembly (https://generalassemb.ly) for providing the venue.
