G'day Dockers,

Our main talk of the evening will be delivered by Scott Coulton, Cloud developer advocate at Microsoft and a Docker captain with 10 years of experience as a software engineer in the managed services and hosting space.

Our second speaker is Michael Hyatt. Michael is a Solution Architect with Elastic based in Melbourne. He has a long track of record with technology in general, been using containerisation and Docker since around about 2014.

Title: Using ELK stack to monitor Docker and K8s

Docker adds a layer of abstraction on top of existing virtual and physical infrastructure. Correlating metrics, logs and application performance monitoring data to monitor and troubleshoot applications deployed on Docker becomes difficult. In this talk and demo, Michael is showing how Beats, APM, Elasticsearch and Kibana can be used to piece together various pieces of the observability puzzle.

Title: Introduction to CNAB's

In this talk, we will demystify what a CNAB (cloud-native application bundle) is by firstly looking at the what problems the project is trying to solve. We will then dive into the spec and look at what it contains to understand how higher level tooling like Docker Compose or Helm will consume it. Lastly, we will do a live demo with duffle to build our own CNAB.
