Hackergarten Expressions of interest

From: Kon S.

Hi Everyone

We were thinking about running a Hackergarten in the new year.

A Hackergarten is where we pick an open source project to hack on.  Or multiple.

The idea is that as a developer, you get an understanding of how to contribute to an open source project, at the same time adding a nice to have feature or fixing an annoying bug.

For those that have open source projects, its the opportunity to get extra developers involved in your project and get more eyeballs helping out.  You'd be able to take the participants through your project, advise about coding standards, running tests, how to submit patches, pull requests, etc and them get them hacking on those things you'd never get around to but like to have yourself.

In order for this to happen we need both interested developers plus open source project leaders to be involved to give the rest of the hackergarten attendees something to do. If it does sound interesting please email us back personally (rather than back to this list)

If you want more info, check out the established hackergarten.net

Kind Regards

Kon, Daniel and Olivier
