How do you feel a lack of knowledge management impacts the organisation?

Just beginning the KM journey at our organisation. Would really appreciate learning more from practitioners and other professionals in the field. Comms within an organisation is clearly critical to its success - we're no different. I'd like to be able to champion KM initiatives from best (or good) practice available in the KM community.
