  • Blue Moon Karaoke

    Blue Moon Karaoke Bar

We're proudly based in Melbourne, Australia, and strive to offer the best open bar Karaoke nights in the city. We use only the best audio equipment to provide the best sound quality, with a song list spanning over 30,000+ songs. Ok, let's get together for some karaoke. Here is a copy of their song list. http://spacehotel.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2018/04/songlist.pdf I will probably sing about 2 or 3 songs, but you don't have to sing if you don't want you. You're more than welcome to just come along and mingle with others. Andrew and I will be there from about 8:55pm. Karaoke starts at 9pm. Andrew and I will be coming along after dinner at Melbourne Central Lion Hotel (Level 3 Melbourne Central), which is also on meetup. Anyone is more than welcome to come along and join us for dinner first. My (Jodie's) number is[masked] and Andrew's number is[masked] if you need to contact either of us.

  • Optional Dinner & Live Music @ Dog's Bar (Free Entry)

Come along and join Andrew and me for dinner and free live music at the Dogs Bar. Dinner will be at 7:30pm at a table booked under Jodie. Here is a copy of their menu. http://dogsbar.com.au/winter-menu/ Then after dinner, live music will be from 9pm. Plenty of public transport available too. You can either get a bus, train or tram there depending on where you're travelling from. But for anyone who is coming from the city, public transport options are: TRAIN - Get the Sandringham line from Flinders Street Station. Then get off at Balaclava Station and then get either the 3, 3a or 16 tram from there. Get off at stop 32, Hovelock Street and it's a 2 minute walk. TRAM - Alternatively you could get either one of those trams from Flinders Street Station (3 3a or 16), if you want to but I think the above option would be a lot quicker. OR you can get the 96 tram from Southern Cross Station on Bourke Street. Then get off at stop 140 Barkly Street and it's a 3 minute walk. For more options, please check out the link below. https://www.ptv.vic.gov.au/ PLEASE NOTE: This event will also be combined with other meetup groups.

  • Bon But Not Forgotten (AC/DC tribute) @ Corner Hotel Richmond

Sat 06 Jul - 8:30 pm Bon But Not Forgotten GUESTS: DARIO BORTOLIN, JAMES MORLEY, SKENIE, CYNTHIA GALLIE, JOEL MCDONALD, GREG ALDRIDGE Bon But Not Forgotten THIS SHOW IS STRICTLY 18+ Bon But Not Forgotten is the closest you will ever get to AC/DC in the 70's! This show brings together some of the world’s greatest rockers to pay tribute to the legend behind one of the world's greatest ever bands, AC/DC, and their iconic singer Bon Scott who celebrates his Birthday on July 9th. Featuring a knock-out line-up, including past and present members of Aussie rock icons, Baby Animals, The Angels and The Poor, this band knows how to electrify a crowd with its explosive repertoire of AC/DC's greatest hits. Not content with just performing a 'Best Of' set, the band also focuses on some gems that aren't commercial in nature, but true fans will love to hear them live, some for the first time. This show replicates the sound, style and passion of AC/DC, without pretence. It is quite simply THE most natural sounding AC/DC performance of any band, other than AC/DC themselves. There is no other band on earth that can perform the show like these carefully selected musicians. The line-up features the consummate talents of: Dario Bortolin – Bass Guitarist of The Baby Animals SKENIE – One of Australia's hardest rocking front men from The Poor James Morley – Former bassist with ARIA Hall of Fame band, The Angels, and guitarist with Choirboys. Joel McDonald – lead guitarist and musical curator for Frankie’s World Famous House Band (of cult venue Frankie’s Pizza, Sydney) which has seduced collaborations with acts including KISS, Guns N Roses, Whitesnake, The Cult and more. Cynthia Gallie –Australias Leading Female Rock Vocalist Greg Aldrige – Drummer for Blood Sweat and Beers - The concert, featuring past and current members of Rose Tattoo, AC/DC, The Angels & The Screaming Jets. He has also played with other members from bands such as Noiseworks, Baby Animals, The John Farnham band, Mondo Rock, Midnight Oil, Stars, Chain, The Black Sorrows, Skyhooks, Ugly kid Joe. • Brunswick Scottish Party and Dance - BYO drinks etc

    Fleming Park Hall

A ceilidh (pronounced kay-lee) is a night of traditional Scottish dancing. Join with the Brunswick Scottish Society and learn how to do fun dances, and have some BYO drinks. Don't worry if you don't know how to dance -- the lovely people will teach you. This is the best $5 night you'll ever have! This is like a big party in a hall with BYO drinks, BYO glass/cup, BYO food and lots of Scottish Dancing. Most of the dances are like square dances with everyone being told or shown what to do. A few of the dances are similar to those done at ballroom places such as the Pride of Erin Waltz, Parma Waltz, Charmain Foxtrot or Evening 3 Step. Don't worry if you don't know any, they teach you. It finishes early, about 11pm, which is good as it's cheap drinks (BYO) you are probably best to use Public Transport. The 96 Tram gets you back to the CBD quite quickly. Some of us pop around the corner after and go to the Lomond Hotel on Nicholson St. The Lomond Hotel normally has a good band and dancing with free entry. Note: The number 96 tram just outside the hotel is one of the trams that is now running all night. FAQ: COST: $5 tickets at the door TIME: 7:45pm for an 8pm start LOCATION: Fleming Park Hall, 96 Victoria St., Brunswick East (the building just east of the Brunswick Bowls Club - 96 tram, stop #26. Note: If you end up at the tram terminus you have gone one stop too far. FOOD: bring food for the shared dinner - such as pasta, a salad, or cupcakes. DRINKS: bring your own + bring glasses/cups WEAR: plaid/tartan if you have it. It's not required, it's just way more fun! AFTER: drinks at the Lomond Hotel on Nicholson Note: This is being placed on a number of meetup groups and similar. We feel that having around 50 people dancing is quite good for this hall but recently had months with it going towards double this. Consequently we're now setting maximum RSVP numbers with the maximum being shared between groups. We monitor the total RSVPs over all groups and when we get enough people we cut off each group's maximum so that further RSVPs go onto wait lists.

  • Sunday Lunch at Spottiswoode Hotel, Spotswood.

    Spottiswoode Hotel

I will book the table under the name of 'Ken/meetup' Spottiswoode Hotel have an amazing special of a $10 roast on Sundays. Even better is the fact that their roast is delicious. Due to this deal plus the fact that we get great service and its a nice hotel, we have been going here most Sundays for the last year. We think that the atmosphere there is good for meetup events and hope to enjoy it more in the company of other meetup people. The hotel is easy to get to by public transport being diagonally opposite the Spotswood Train Station which is on the Werribee and Williamstown lines. There is always plenty of parking in their car park on the opposite side of Hudsons Rd. Their standard menu is available at http://spottiswoode.com.au/Main-Menu.php but the specials are better value. The size of their servings for all meals other than the $10 roast is very generous. If you have one of their great desserts, you are best to share it. Please note that we have placed this event into several meetup groups so the numbers that have RSVPed here are not indicative of the number of people coming.
