The topics this month are:
A site clinic is when participants put forward a website of theirs for a live SEO analysis by experienced SEO professionals. We will ensure the session provides constructive feedback highlighting what works and what could be improved.
If you're brave enough to nominate your site, please submit your URL to siteclinic (at) chrisburgess.com.au. We will then select 2 - 3 sites each meeting (depending on how we go for time) for analysis and encourage group discussion. Please note that you must be present at the meetup to take part in the site clinic.
The Need for Speed
During this presentation I will cover web performance optimisation and how it impacts on your online marketing efforts. I'll start with a few case studies and the basics of why websites are slow and what you can do to make your site faster. We will then look at the various free tools that you can use to measure and optimise your site for maximum performance.
Please note: The venue is the Limerick Arms Hotel (it's across the road from the Honey Bar).
We are now located in South Melbourne, with the new venue offering easy access to transport with details below, and also offering 2 large plasma screen TVs to do some presentations.
The aim is to run 2-3 presentations in the first couple of hours (with intermissions between talks so you can ask any questions and grab a drink), followed with some laid-back networking and drinks.
We no longer have to limit the number of people we can fit into the new space but please RSVP so we can advise the venue.
Here is their Google place listing (https://plus.google.com/103970890354385138189/about?hl=en) but if you are having trouble finding me ping @chrisburgess (https://twitter.com/chrisburgess), @holidaypointau (https://twitter.com/holidaypointau) or call Michael on 0416 248 130 (be mindful my phone might be on silent if the event has started).
A reminder that we located upstairs, but feel free to ask the staff if you can't find the stairs.
