Melbourne SEO Meetup - Advanced SEM and The Future of Search

  • Dec 4, 2013 · 6:15 PM
  • This location is shown only to members

This month we've got a few great presentations:

1) The Beginner's Guide to Advanced SEM - Nik Pasic

While SEO is becoming increasingly more difficult and expensive paid advertising is gaining ever more prominence above the fold and still remains the undisputed strongest converting marketing channel.

In this presentation Nik will provide you with all the free tools you will need to easily and effectively set up your campaigns and share some of his advanced and best kept secrets to help your campaigns convert and give you the edge to stay several steps ahead of your competitors.

About Nik:

Nik (@nikpasic) has been immersed in the online sphere for the past ten years with a wide range of specialties including SEO, SEM, CRO, eDM, SMM and analytics amongst others. His work ranges from local start ups to multi-million dollar corporate giant campaigns both in Australia and international markets across the retail, education, government, natural resource, sporting and business service sectors.

2) The Future of Search

Special guest from the UK :)

---

Please note: The venue is the Limerick Arms Hotel (it's across the road from the Honey Bar).

We are now located in South Melbourne, with the new venue offering easy access to transport with details below, and also offering 2 large plasma screen TVs to do some presentations.

The aim is to run 2-3 presentations in the first couple of hours (with intermissions between talks so you can ask any questions and grab a drink), followed with some laid-back networking and drinks.

We no longer have to limit the number of people we can fit into the new space but please RSVP so we can advise the venue.

Here is their Google place listing but if you are having trouble finding me ping @chrisburgess@holidaypointau or call Michael on[masked] (be mindful my phone might be on silent if the event has started).

A reminder that we located upstairs, but feel free to ask the staff if you can't find the stairs.

You know the presenters at the meetup were great, when you start referring to what they said, even quoting them, during other professional conversions with colleagues and clients. Nik, Sonny, and Huw all gave information which I have thought about and talked about since the Meetup. Also thanks Nik for making your presentation available on Slideshare. I hope everyone has a great Christmas and New Year, and I look forward to heaps more SEO in 2014.

Hey everyone. A packed schedule last week did not permit me to upload this sooner and after the weekend it simply skipped my mind. Apologies about that. My presentation deck is now available on SlideShare as promised - http://www.slideshare.net/nikpasic/advanced-sem-strategies

I truly appreciate all your interest and enthusiasm and hope you found the session useful. I will be talking about Conversion Rate Optimization at the next Meet Up to follow up on this presentation. Do follow me on twitter @nikpasic for updates and random musings (mostly about digital, sports and technology) and feel free to ask me any questions. I'll be more than happy to assist aspiring SEOs and anyone interested in SEM/CRO in any way I can.

CALLING ALL APPLE PROs. Upon typing your password on the virtual keyboard on your iPad every letter is visible for 3 seconds before it hides. How do you change this so that it automatically shows encrypted asterix for every letter? Thank you guys. Kind regards, Brigitte.

    • Robert

It seems you can't do anything but try and be discrete when entering password.

      November 19, 2013

    • Marie-Brigitte S.
