Hi, guys and welcome to MELBOURNE SPIRITUAL CONNECTIONS( formerly known as the Melbourne Spiritual Singles). Since our times have drastically changed due to the current pandemic, Woke culture, an environment of greater social inclusivity and the instability and uncertainty of current world events, our meetup group needs to change too to reflect the changing and evolving world. Most of us will have realised through lockdowns, enforced isolation, increased reliance on impersonal technology&social media and the current chaotic world events how important and healing it is to CONNECT. Furthermore it is vital to connect with the right kind of positive and like-minded, conscious souls, people with a high vibration that uplift you and bring out the best in you. With this in mind, this revamped meetup group aims to be inclusive of all conscious and spiritual people. We all deep down crave to CONNECT whether in the guise of relationships, friendships or just company. This group's purpose and vision is to foster the perfect environment where conscious, spiritually-minded people can meet up at welcoming and fun activities for deep conversations, genuine and heartfelt connections and yet be able to be authentic and true to themselves.
So moving forward this group is about helping facilitate deep personal connections whatever shape or form they may take(relationships and/or friendships). So moving forward this group becomes equally open to both single people and mingles(people already in a relationship but who want to still come along to events). Occasionally though we will run the odd 'singles only' events such as perhaps a 'speed dating' night.
Maria and I have some great and exciting ideas for upcoming events but of course we'll still be relying on our member's support, enthusiasm and rsvps/attendance to be successful. Some of the wonderful ideas we have for events include:
*Friday night film&discussion nights
* Saturday night dinners(and special functions e.g. ten-pin bowling, etc)
* Sunday afternoon outdoor events such as walks, picnics, barbeques, trips to wineries, etc.
* Overnight Trips and so much more.....
Saturday Night Dinner Events- A special note:
Maria who will be organizing a large majority of our upcoming premier dinner events has a few comments to make about rsvping for Saturday night dinners and special functions: She has commented that although the best efforts will be made to secure venues& restaurants for Saturday evening dinner functions which do not require a deposit, admittedly it is currently becoming harder to scout establishments that do not require of the organizer some kind of a deposit to secure a table or a booking. In these instances, the host of the event will ask rsvping members to pay a token deposit(e.g. $20 or so) to secure their spot for the event which will then be given back to them on the night provided they show up. This would then be used to put towards one's meal. This reduces the stress on the host and the incidence of blatant 'no shows' and late withdrawals which are the bane of most meetup groups. Refunds of these deposits will generally not be given back unless an event is cancelled or postponed, the venue is changed or the member manages to unrsvp before the cut-off time and the booking is finalised with the venue. The new guidelines are in place to reduce the stress on event hosts and to leave them in good standing with the venues for future events, all very reasonable expectations.
Our hope is that our revamped and re-energised group, the MELBOURNE SPIRITUAL CONNECTIONS grows and evolves into a thriving, exciting, fun and happening group and recaptures some of the former glory of the Melbourne Spiritual Singles group which has been so successful in the past and which has led to a lot of good friendships and even some relationships and marriages. You will get out of the group what you put into it so please rsvp and come along to as many activities and events as your circumstances permit. We can't wait to see you!
So, hi, and welcome to the Melbourne Spiritual Connections Meetup Group. The Melbourne Spiritual Connections(MSC) has been created out of a desire to bring together singles and mingles who are looking for fun, connection, friendships and possibly a spiritually orientated partner with whom to share your life journey with.
It is the intention of Melbourne Spiritual Connections to provide a safe, friendly and inviting environment where spiritually minded singles and mingles can get together across a wide variety of events and activities. There will be a good mix of regular events (at least one to two a week) that will include social dinners and get togethers, movie and discussion nights and workshops and presentations for your personal growth and development as raising our vibration and consciousness is crucial in the times we are living in. It is also a hope of mine that we as members use this group for networking, supporting each other in realising our dreams and gifts and building a more conscious and aware community of like-minded and like-spirited individuals who contribute to the evolution of consciousness on our planet.
Members are encouraged to post a photo and an introduction on the MSS meetup page when joining. This is a closed, private group so that only other members will be able to see your group profile and this is to ensure the safety and privacy of our members and minimise any unwarranted attention or harassment of our members (especially our lovely ladies!) by people outside of the group that aren't really interesting in joining and contributing to this group.
As the group's main organiser I look forward to meeting, getting to know you all, sharing and growing along with you!
Melbourne Spiritual Singles (MSS) Guiding Principles&General Housekeeping Rules:
1. Melbourne Spiritual Connections is non-discriminatory and is open to members of all spiritual and/or religious beliefs, faiths and practices, as well as sexual orientation.
2. While MSC may host events related to a particular spiritual practice (e.g. specific types of meditation), MSC is non-denominational, non-sectarian and non-racial and is not affiliated with and does not favour any one particular spiritual group, organisation or practice.
3. Organisers' messages, member posts to the MSC website and other communications between members should be of an appropriate nature and use courteous, inoffensive and where applicable (e.g. when evaluating events) be of a constructive, non-confrontational nature.
4. Any form of harassment of members in the group will not be tolerated and if it happens the offender will be first warned and next time banned from the group.
5. Regarding attendance at events, we are instigating a new 'three strikes and you are out' policy regarding 'no shows' at all events. If you have rsvped and can no longer attend an event simply unrsvp or let the organiser know with sufficient notice (at least one to two hours before an event starts) by either a post on meetup or texting the organiser (as I will always supply my mobile number before events for anyone that needs to contact me). Of course exceptions do apply under special circumstances.
Having said all that let's get together and create something awesome and special! CONNECTION is the name of the game!
