July Meetup

After a 2 month hiatus, we're going to run another Symfony2 meetup.

We're looking to shift the focus of the meetup to getting to grips with some Symfony code rather than the formal presentation style.

For beginners/those new to Symfony, we will have some tasks/tutorials that will help you get up to speed with Symfony2 and the power it offers.

For the more experienced, please feel free to bring along some code to hack on / show off / discuss.

  • All Symfony2 abilities / experience levels welcome.
  • 6:15pm for a 6:30pm start @ Flint Interactive's studio in Collingwood.
  • Drinks and Pizza provided

What to bring:

  • A Laptop with the correct LAMP environment running (please make sure your development environment can run Symfony2 already) and an IDE, (eg, PHPStorm/Eclipse).
  • Download Symfony2 (without vendors) and run the vendors install script prior to the meetup.

Join or login to comment.

Although the framework's evolved, most of the theory is still right - here's my 2011 symfony2 security pres: http://samjarrett.github.com/Symfony2-Security-Presentation/

Sorry for the late response to this. Great presentation. Very informative and learnt a few new things. Thanks.

Format was great and the people attending were very knowledgable and most importantly very helpful.

Great knowledge of Symfony2, and good to get some hands-on coding/programming time.
    Thanks guys!

As a beginner, I found the challenge interesting because it help me to get more into the symfony2 framework. It provided me a good guideline to start and I can continue to work on it in my free time. We could easily help each other.

    Hey all,

Just wanted to mention that we've got a waiting list happening (with 3 eager Symfonites waiting), and ask that anyone who's currently down as attending, but won't be coming along tonight please change their RSVP status, so that others can come along?

Thanks! See you all tonight :-)

(Is Symfonites a thing? Can we make it one? All these questions and more will be answered tonight!)
