    Film Nights will be held at 5:30pm every second Friday of the month at the new Melbourne Theosophical Society, Level 1, 234 Flinders Lane.

    “Creative Alchemy” will give you the opportunity to explore your self-expression and creative being through transpersonal art processes, storytelling, mandalas, symbol making, myth, ritual, music, meditation and physical techniques.

    We will demystify together this thing we call “creativity”.

    We foster the belief that we are all born creative, with a yearning to self-express our unique being in the world.

  • ‘Creative Alchemy’ - Art and the Transpersonal

    Join Gunnel Watkins, Transpersonal Art Therapist and Artist (work depicted in the above photo) in a talk on and experiential exploration of Art and the Transpersonal which denotes, or deals with states or areas of consciousness beyond the limits of personal identity.

    The talk will provide an overview of Art and Theosophy and focus on a range of artists who were influenced by Theosophy.

    The second part of the session is experiential; where you will have the opportunity to explore through self-expression our creative being in the transpersonal context.

    This session is the precursor to a series of ‘Creative Alchemy’ Friday evening sessions to be held during April and May (see schedule for details) where we will explore the art of seeing; reflection; and creativity outside normal comfort zones.

  • Who Was Madame Blavatsky

    Enjoy a film and presentation by Margaret Harris PhD on a founder of the Theosophical Society and Movement, Helena P. Blavatsky, a strong, colorful and leading woman of her day.

    Approaching International Women’s Day, this presentation celebrates the important spiritual and temporal contribution of Madame Blavatsky, and other leading women, to the global growth of the Theosophical Movement and spread of Theosophy despite many daunting obstacles.

    Viewed as the Mother of The New Age, she was instrumental in bringing Ancient Wisdom of the East into public awareness which many people today take for granted.

    It is thus with a sense of gratitude and celebration that she is remembered today.
