HERB PARSONS - First Saturday of Every Month

  • Herb Parsons Lake

Fisherville Lake Road , Collierville, TN (map)

    35.135456 -89.626938

  • THIS IS A 5.5 MILE+/2-4 HOUR HIKE AROUND THE LAKE... Come join us for a hike around Herb Parsons Lake. This place is close by - less than 5 miles from Collierville and just a bit more from Arlington. See directions at the link below. Much of the hike is lake side with great views. You will love it.

We will meet near the deck at the store/bait shop (you can see it as soon as you pull into the park). Bring snacks, water, sunscreen, and a hat. Wear and either sneakers or hiking boots and dress in layers. It is also good to bring a backpack if you wish to remove layers. Bring bug spray. Ticks are becoming a problem so make sure your bugspray works for ticks.

If you use google maps, it will tell you to take 40 E to 64 E to 269 S. 269 S is actually 385. Google Map of our regular meetup locations.

My wife and I completed 7 miles on the Red Trail in 4 hours and 48 minutes (kilted of course.). The trail is fitness walker friendly (with a few minor challenging spots.).

Anyone else still interested in going for a hike?

Guys, sorry. No one else was available to lead this hike, so I am canceling this event (just for this one). See everyone next month (or next weekend, if you are hiking Lucius Burch with me).

I was looking forward to the hike and my wife and I will do it ourselves this Saturday. Basically, to check out the terrain to see if the trails can accommodate a fitness walker.

I might try and make it as well. I have never been there before and was looking forward to it. I am checking on the Canoe trip and if its full than I would like to hike.

Okay, thanks Devoe. We enjoyed having you on the previous hike. Hope you can make it again next month.

Rats! You'd have been my first choice, because of all your tidbits of knowledge about things along that trail. But thanks for letting me know. Have fun on the Ghost, and stay safe.

I will be at the Delta Fair all day, demonstrating hieroglyphics in the Arts & Crafts building, and will not be able to lead the hike this month. I am hoping that one of the other leaders will step in and lead this month. Please stay tuned.
