HERB PARSONS - First Saturday of Every Month

THIS IS A 5.5 MILE+/2-4 HOUR HIKE AROUND THE LAKE... Come join us for a hike around Herb Parsons Lake. This place is close by - less than 5 miles from Collierville and just a bit more from Arlington. See directions at the link below. Much of the hike is lake side with great views. You will love it.

We will meet near the deck at the store/bait shop (you can see it as soon as you pull into the park). Bring snacks, water, sunscreen, and a hat. Wear and either sneakers or hiking boots and dress in layers. It is also good to bring a backpack if you wish to remove layers. Bring bug spray. Ticks are becoming a problem so make sure your bugspray works for ticks.

VERY IMPORTANT!!!!!

If you use google maps, it will tell you to take 40 E to 64 E to 269 S. 269 S is actually 385. Google Map of our regular meetup locations.

Coordinates for Herb Parsons Lake: N[masked]°, W[masked]°

This is an easy hike on mostly well marked trails, perfect for those new to hiking. We hike between 2-4 hours.

Call if you have questions or are running late,[masked]-8270.

Thank you for the Great time. As I was not sure of the place, I was hesitant to go. It was really good to enjoy the beautiful scenery and people!

Also, my friend and co-worker who is the manager of the trails, promised to look over the area for me afterward and keep it nice.

You'll have to show me where it is, next time we are on the trail together.

We won't be making it this month due to the flu. Sorry to hear about your kitty, Sheila!

I'd like to thank Chris, who will be leading this hike in my absence this month.

Everyone I'll be at the park by the boat ramp and bait shop. I will either be in a black for F150 4x4 or if the weather is nice I may be in my 1935 ford truck green with purple flames. Look forward to seeing everyone.

I will start off with the group but will be stopping along the way. It will sound strange to most but I plan on having a little ceremony and scattering my departed kitty's ashes at a designated spot along the lake. I have been meaning to do this for some time.

Sheila, I don't have a problem with that, but I would think that you would need to check with the park service before you do that.

Guys, I may be up in Washington state visiting my family for Fourth of July weekend. If that works out I will try and get someone else to lead this hike.

I should be there. I think I remember the way.

Hi everyone! Been trying to do this hike for the past couple months, but getting off late on Saturdays make it a no go. 90% sure that I won't have to work on Friday night which mean I can join! If my job tell me we are working, will post on Friday a decline. But otherwise, I need to work off that meal from the 4th!

I am not sure of the location. It seems I need to go east through Popular almost to 269S. Is that right?

Fumie, my best advice to you would be to take the coordinates that I gave in the description and put those in Google maps.

Sorry I am unable to hike this time. I'll still be celebrating the fourth Sat

I am not sure about the location.

Fumie, this is out near Collierville, TN. If you put the coordinates I gave in the description into your GPS, it will take you right to the gate of the park.
