Herb Parsons Lake

THIS IS A 6 MILE, 3 HOUR HIKE AROUND THE LAKE... Come join us for a hike around Herb Parsons Lake. This place is close by - less than 5 miles from Collierville and just a bit more from Arlington. See directions at the link below. Much of the hike is lake side with great views. You will love it.

We will meet near the deck at the store/bait shop (you can see it as soon as you pull into the park). Bring snacks, water, sunscreen, and a hat. Wear and either sneakers or hiking boots and dress in layers. It is also good to bring a backpack if you wish to remove layers. Bring bug spray. Ticks are becoming a problem so make sure your bugspray works for ticks.

VERY IMPORTANT!!!!!

If you use google maps, it will tell you to take 40 E to 64 E to 269 S. 269 S is actually 385. Google Map of our regular meetup locations.

Coordinates for Herb Parsons Lake: N[masked]°, W[masked]°

This is an easy hike on mostly well marked trails, perfect for those new to hiking. We hike between 2-4 hours.

It was a good hike, met some new people, and had a good meal afterwards. It was a pleasure.

Thanks again Ravpreet for leading this hike! We all finished the race! This was Dana's first half marathon since her leg injury, and she did great!

    Jamila contact me at [masked]
I was talking with others in the group and we would like to set up a photo lesson while hiking. I would like your input and a good time to set it up.

Jamila reminded me of a good point. Yes, I intend to hike, rain or shine. But I was out there yesterday and there are a lot of leaves on the ground. If the rain comes earlier than expected it may become slippery. So if you have a pole/walking stick, I would suggest bring it to help with stability on the few elevation changes in the trail.

Rain is in the forcast, is it rain or shine??

    • Ravpreet Singh G.

My app shows odds of rain highest beginning around 1 PM, so around when we finish. We'll be in the woods for most of the hike and will have cover. So yes, the hike is on, rain or shine.

Okay, folks. Ravpreet (a regular on this hike) will be leading this hike at the regularly scheduled time, while I am doing the St Jude Half Marathon. You will be in good hands and I'll see everyone on the next hike.

    Thanks Rav!
