The Circle of Men group is a weekly meeting where the format and topics are casual and relaxed. The conversation is real and practical. The guys who attend may be the same ones you’d grab a beer, watch a game or hang out with your kids with; or guys that you haven't met. We take a couple of hours to have some honest conversation about challenges and growth opportunities that are shared (roles, career, family, relationships) and about specific issues that someone might want to share or to ask for support. By the end of the evening, you’ll have learned something, we guarantee it – whether it’s about yourself or the world around you – and you’ll be glad you spent the time.
We are limiting the meeting group to 12 men in order to aid the process of friendship, bonding, trust, and communication during the meetings. Twelve men, twelve weeks that is what we are looking for. Join us for one meeting to see if you like what we are about, if so we hope that you will continue for the twelve weeks.
The purpose of this men's group, A Circle of Men, is to start considering and exploring a journey together as men in the area of personal growth and personal development. To be a men's-focused community that is committed to contributing, connecting, conversing and supporting one another.
We are looking for like-minded men who are committed to growing as grounded well-balanced men, leaders, husbands, partners, friends, mentors, artists, influencers, thinkers, and in our relationships, careers, businesses, and in our communities and in our natural world. We welcome all men regardless of race, religion, color, creed, or sexual orientation.
We will use portions of "The Men's Group Manual" by Clyde Henry (2013) and "A Circle of Men: The Original Manual for Men's Support Groups" by Bill Kauth (2015) in order to glean instructions, guidance, insights, and ideas as we meld our groups own uniqueness.
We envision one day having a network of several Circle of Men in different areas, including Albany so that distance wouldn't be an issue for any men.
WHO WE ARE NOT:
We are NOT a therapy group, nor an encounter group, nor a recovery group, nor a dating group, or a place to pick up men for sex, nor a group against women, nor a religious or political group, we're free and unaffiliated. We DO NOT have a hidden agenda!
