For any Truth Seekers and jazz lovers still in town we are gathering for Saturday night of the Atlanta Jazz Festival to check out Marcus Strickland feat. Pharoahe Monche & Lizz Wright. This is a FREE event and recommend you bring your own food & drink. Closer to the event we may pitch in together and brings some wings out. Check back regularly the week of the event as I will post the meet up spot so we can sit/stand together on the lawn. Recommend you bring your own lawn chairs.
Details for parking (copied from AJF site): Public Transit
URGENT ALERT: Do NOT park on the residential streets in the neighborhoods adjacent to Piedmont Park! These streets are now designated Residential Parking Only and you WILL be booted or towed.
We don't want your festival experience to end on a negative note, so make arrangements for alternative transport. Here are some suggestions: - Take MARTA to the Midtown Station or the Arts Center Station. Piedmont Park is just a 3 block walk. We will also have Lanier Shuttles running every 15 minutes (depending on traffic) from both the Midtown Station and the Arts Center Station to Piedmont Park for those who do not wish to walk.
- Ride your bicycle to the park! The Atlanta Bicycle Coalition will have a bike valet station located on 10th Street near Park Tavern for you to hop off of the Beltline and safely store your wheels during the festivities. Don't own a bicycle? You can rent one! Check out http://www.atlantabike.org/rentals
- Hitch a ride with Uber or a local taxi. Both can drop you off at the 12th Street Entrance to Piedmont Park.
- If you must bring your vehicle, Midtown Atlanta has a plethora of paid parking garages all within walking distance to the park.
Here is a map to help you find these garages: http://atlanta.parkingspotter.com/midtown
