What we're about

I have been working as a therapist for the last 7 years now and I worryingly notice more and more people grappling additionally with issues that – if at all – weren’t that salient then as they are now:

you’d be surprised how many times my clients mentioned the words Brexit and Trump (now also Boris), in my therapy rooms, the rise of global right-wing politics, the current political climate in the UK and political oblivion on climate change, the horror of Grenfell Tower, the Windrush and Universal Credit/PiP scandal(s), 0-hour contracts, the increasing attacks against women and members of the Jewish, Muslim and LGBTQ+ community; the increasing levels of homelessness while thousands of luxury apartments and offices stand empty for years across the UK; its chronically underfunded and flailing healthcare system, capped salaries for public sector workers despite rising inflation, the increased dependency by many on foodbanks, petrol poverty, tampon tax; an entire young generation feeling disenfranchised and in danger of falling either into poverty, drug- or alcohol misuse or into the hands of gang members and its often accompanying knife crimes; said youngsters being also increasingly aware that they’re likely to be perennially in debt due to astronomical costs for rent, public transport, childcare costs, living expenses in UK’s urban areas, the highest tuition fees for state education in the western hemisphere, rising levels of unemployment or being stuck in the cycle of gig economy and being chronically in debt while possibly never getting even close to the first rung of the property ladder in this country, that has officially the lowest levels of social mobility in Europe while it can proudly proclaim to have the largest chasm between the top and low-end earners, assured by its mostly elitist and out-of-touch politicians who seem to demonstratively maintain their softly-softly approach on their corporate tax dodging chums in the business and finance sector.
You get the picture.

If any of this struck a chord with you, please join.
As a therapist and mental health worker, I simply cannot be passive and silent through these mayhem times we're living in and hence want to offer a safe space for everyone affected to express their concerns, fears and worries, listen to others and hopefully make them realise that they're not alone with this.
