This area is 80 miles from Boise and has a lot of fossils, petrified wood, and Moqui Balls.
Meet in the Albertson’s Shopping Center parking lot at 10 am sharp near McDonald’s Restaurant, 6574 S Federal Way to facilitate carpools.
We need some people with higher clearance vehicles to be carpool drivers, especially people with Trucks, 4WD, or AWD vehicles.
Max 5 cars, 16 people.

Geologic field trip to an unusual freshwater fossil reef (Lake Idaho) that includes natural concretions similar to Moqui balls, and large fossil reef made up of algal mounds, snail, clam, and fish fossils.Things to Bring:
- Hiking boots, day pack, water, lunch for yourself, hat, jacket, be prepared to spend a couple hours outside and hike ~1-2 miles total.
- Cash $$$ to contribute towards gas to your carpool driver.
- Be prepared for 60-85F degree weather
