What we're about

This is a group for black women (cis or trans) and non-binary interested in mindfulness, spirituality and fulfillment. We will explore different aspects of the conscious community, discovering new things together such as different types of meditation practices, new thought initiatives, different religious teaching, mind/body physical activities, cooking and dietary practices and African Diaspora spirituality. All are welcome, but the focus will be on helping these particular human beings learn these things in a space they can feel vulnerable. I started this group to meet others also on a spiritual/life improvement journey. Looking forward to exploring exciting new adventures with everybody.

Opening Exhibit Reception at The Museum of Women's Resistance (MoWRe)

Museum of Women's Resistance (MoWRe)

The Museum of Women's Resistance (MoWRe) is a space dear to my heart. I have made amazing bonds with the women there and have experienced such love during our Sister Circles in the space. This museum celebrates the courage and persistence of black women throughout herstory, who have resisted and fought for our existence. They're having an open reception for their latest exhibit and I want to share this space with you all, not only to support this museum run by the Black Women's Blueprint, but to take in the energy of our ancestors, learn their stories and hopefully leave with a new friend. Learn more about the museum through the link below. https://www.museumofwomensresistance.org/

Exploration of The Open Center: 35th Anniversary celebration and Open House!

This is a spirited evening to celebrate The Open Center’s 35 years of presence in NYC. This is an opportunity to check out the space, meet some faculty, enjoy some entertainment and refreshments. They will also have experts around to answer any questions about holistic health and wellness. There will also be a Reiki circle. That day the yearly membership will be $35 (valued at $95), so definitely come to take advantage of the deal. To learn more about The Open Center online, check out the website. https://www.opencenter.org/ The New York Open Center offers holistically-based educational programs to create positive transformation in individuals and the world. The New York Open Center was founded in 1984 with the intention of creating a forum for a new generation of seekers. Our founders felt there was an abundance of excellent spiritual teachers and practitioners in the New York City area without a physical space or destination in which to practice. With an event on the evening of January 13, 1984, the New York Open Center was born. The initial focus of the center was on spiritual values but the mission quickly expanded to include how our values and intentions lead us to participate in the wider world. Since then, the New York Open Center has evolved into an urban destination for holistic learning, personal development, professional advancement and enrichment. Programs are offered in spiritual inquiry and practice, psychology and self-development, holistic health, bodywork, movement and yoga, arts and creativity. The center also features concerts, performances and other special events. The Open Center is dedicated to making these educational and enriching opportunities available to anyone anywhere through online learning initiatives. Today, the New York Open Center presents more than 300 programs of exceptional depth and integrity to audiences totaling more than 10,000 annually.

Women's Herstory Month! Pvssy Plate Painting Party (painting & chat on the body)

Grand Street Healing Project

Inspired by the Judy Chicago’s 1979 feminist piece called ‘The Dinner Party’, this event is a celebration of women throughout Herstory. We will be creating a modern interpretation of the piece. Each guest will paint their own plate, signifying their perspective or ideology of what it means to be a woman today. Guests will go home with their very own masterpiece (a plate with acrylic paint), displaying their idea of feminism/womanism and/or the female form in the modern era.
