Come learn to build a simple chat app with Meteor!
We’ll be building a simple chat app at our own paces, in small groups or alone. We’ve prepared a sample github repo with some instructions, goals for the basic app, and some ideas for stretch goals. Both of us organizers will go around helping each group.
This will be the first in a cycle of events we’d like to try. We’re going to host a focused learning night around a certain kind of app, then a night of working to expand on that app or work on your own projects, and then a night of lightning talks.
We also have a bunch of swag left over from the hackathon. Free shirts, stickers, bottle openers; first come first serve!
We’ll help everyone install Meteor first thing. But if you’d like to get ahead, that’d be great! You can find instructions on the official site: https://www.meteor.com/install
