What we're about

This is an experimental group for those who are interested in learning Method Acting as a transformational therapeutic method, explore processes of deep self-discovery and self inquiry - it's for actors of all levels and for those who have never acted at all and never plan to...
My intention is to offer an intense experiential training (acting and self-healing) and possibly, form an experimental theatre with graduates of my 3 month long intensives in San Diego.
Whether you live in Southern California or in Norther California, you are welcome to join and attend our events...

Here is what attendees of our past events say:

"Thank you for inviting me! I had a wonderful time. And the experience was more than I could ever expect or imagine. You were right! It helped me! Thank you for showing me what I could not see myself. And I'd love to join again. I can't wait for the next event!"
- Sarah

"Thank you!!! It was so insightful and powerful! And all of us shared a lot of love!"
- Al

“Thank you so much. I learned a lot about myself and the lies I use to justify my thoughts, feelings and behaviors. Your work with Al revealed some hard truths about my rigidity and my need to be right. Moving forward, I feel equipped with the questions needed to face myself honestly. Also, whatever you did to me when you brushed your fingertips down the side of my face was incredible, it was like some wall shattered and an overabundance of love came rushing in. Thank you. I’d love to learn more from you. Please let me know when you do another class.”.

"Against her parents wishes as a teenager Olga Kostrova voraciously pursued her passion for drama born from a profound curiosity for how and why humans can be so hurtful and even violent to one another. Her infatuation and inspiration stretched beyond creative playfulness (and sincere and genuine self-expression) to transformational healing and how we might transcend our primal wounding and inherited ancestral suffering to emerge whole, functional and radiant as highly accomplished human beings. When I perused her promotional ad for her Shadow Theater Workshop, I was struck by how well it captured the flavor of my own passion for personal healing, growth and acting - artistic self-expression. Starting with her enthusiasm for the method of Constantin Stanislavsky followed by a list of all my favorite cinema heroes, I knew I had stumbled on to something as I read this generous and enthusiastic invitation to travel (even from great distance, even if I had no money to pay her for this donation-based opportunity!) to explore the potential healing of our shadow aspects.

Ms. Kostrova is so genuinely who she is, herself, so inspired and dedicated to helping people find themselves and heal from the early childhood trauma that may be undermining their earthly experience and keeping them from soaring, combined with her resident insightfulness and a lifetime of passionate study and application, she has a delightful passion for facilitating spontaneously crafted improvisation in such a way as to tap the specific themes needing healing in the individual players while also providing opportunity for healing of the universal wounds that exist among humanity. Two male-female improvisational scenes, resembling a party game, not unlike Charades, quickly became highly cathartic providing healing, learning and growth for the players and same for those witnessing the scenes as they magically tapped early memories of parental conflict long buried and now becoming conscious once again. Wow!

After the close of the workshop and an end to the allotted time in the rented space, in a beautiful act of generosity, evidence of a person sharing her most passionate offering, Olga invited anyone who wished to join her at a local park (a 5-minute walk away) for more Stanislavsky-based Drama Therapy (and more refreshments!), as we proceeded to stretch this playful healing experience for another couple hours, through another magical San Diego sunset, only finishing with our loving group circles with gentle loving respectful touch against a backdrop of new, fresh darkness of night... WOW!"
