[This event will take place on Zoom.]
Join us on Zoom as the Metis team walks you through what students learn during their 12 weeks of project-based data science work. You’ll also hear from Metis alumni about how to prepare, what to expect, and what happens after you attend the Metis Data Science Bootcamp.
ABOUT OUR ALUMNI
Sami graduated from the University of Miami with a Bachelors of Arts in Media Writing and Production. He is excited about how interpretable data science can be used to highlight an issue like the opioid epidemic (his first project at Metis) and create meaningful trust through data storytelling. For his final project at Metis, Sami used unsupervised learning methods to classify the different kinds of electromagnetic waves from the inner region of Earth’s magnetosphere.
Shon graduated from Hofstra University with a Bachelor's in Business Management. In early 2018, by chance, he stumbled across Python, and embarked on a long one year journey of self study which led to his discovery of data science. Finally, he decided this is what he wanted to do full time, and applied to Metis. Since Metis, he's been working at a startup in NYC as a data scientist, and couldn't be happier with the way things unfolded.
Metis (https://thisismetis.com/) accelerates data science learning for individuals, companies, and institutions through corporate training and accredited, immersive bootcamps.
The Metis bootcamp curriculum is designed and delivered by highly educated and industry-experienced practitioners, and all bootcamp graduates receive hands-on career support until they’re hired. Campuses are located in Chicago, New York City, San Francisco, and Live Online.
On the corporate side, Metis works with large organizations who want to upskill their teams in data science and analytics to gain efficiencies, remain competitive, and improve their bottom lines. Metis is proud to be backed by Kaplan, a global leader in education.
