Presentation: Power Michigan's Future: Conservation - Efficiency - Renewable

Special Announcement:  SEMG Sierra Club's 6-foot Earth Globe will be in attendance and available to pose for photos with you, family, friends, and especially children.

Digital photos will be taken first come, first served, starting about 6:30pm.  They will be emailed to the address that you will be asked to provide.

Presented by David Konkle, Energy Programs Director for the Ann Arbor Downtown Development Authority Energy Office Director for the International Council for Local Environmental Initiatives, ICLEI-US.  David is also: Board member of the Great Lakes Renewable Energy Association (GLREA); Energy Coordinator for the City of Ann Arbor for 20 years ending in 2008; and promoter of the mysterious Whirlydoodle Project.

David's presentation will include an analysis of Michigan's current and future demand for energy, where we get our energy now, and options for the future.  Our state has the oldest coal-fired power plants in the nation and many of them will need to be replaced in the next decade forcing us to soon decide Michigan's energy future.

David will also address the results of the "25 x 25" ballot proposal for renewable energy.

RSVP not needed.  Feel free to invite others.  Special Earth Day refreshments/activities.
