NOTICE: I have temporarily suspended group meetups while I search for a new location. I apologize for the inconvenience. If you know of a location with a private meeting room that we could use for free (preferably not a church) please send me a message! Thank you for your understanding.
We are a peer-to-peer grief support group for people age 18-35ish (we won't turn you away if you're older!). This group is an opportunity to meet with other people who are dealing with the vast and at times overwhelming range of reactions we can experience after a death. We are a secular group, not affiliated with any specific faith - everyone is welcome.
In a safe, non judgmental environment, people are invited to share their personal experiences with grief, ask questions of the group, and provide support for the other participants. We have a series of guidelines, including our commitment to protecting confidentiality and refraining from giving advice, which help maintain the open and accepting atmosphere.
The groups are ongoing, free of charge, and meet every other week for 1.5 hours in the evening. NOTE: This is a peer-to-peer support group; if you are looking for professional support, please contact your local hospice organization, a social worker, counselor, therapist, psychologist or other mental health care professional.
