Details

One of the most popular trends in team and volume photography today is composite sports photography. Composite photography combines multiple photographs and digital elements into one seamless image providing results that are beyond what would be possible with traditional photography. Using the magic of Photoshop, composite artists manipulate digital art elements, backgrounds and digital photographs to create an entirely new image.
In this class, Certified Professional Photographer Tony Gatlin will show you how to create a composite sports image, from image capture, through the editing process, to the final new image. He will discuss lighting, portable set up, and posing; Photoshop techniques to style the image and prepare it for compositing, and the composite process itself.
The class includes a live photo session with portable light set up, Photoshop demo and creation of a unique sports composite image on site. Duration is approximately two hours.

Tony is originally from Benton, Arkansas, where he began his photographic journey in 1975 as a member of the junior high school yearbook staff. After high school, his love for photography grew as he travelled the world for 30 years as a member of the U.S. military, visiting 38 different countries and 48 U.S. states.
As he prepared for retirement from the military, Tony decided to turn his passion for photography into his second career and began photographing weddings professionally in San Antonio, Texas. After a successful run in San Antonio, family ties brought Tony back to Central Arkansas, where he now owns a studio in Malvern and specializes in Composite Sports Photography.
Tony is married to Erica Love Gatlin from Philadelphia, PA, and has two grown sons and six grandchildren. He holds three academic Masters degrees and is a Certified Professional Photographer. His artwork has appeared in Smithsonian Magazine and National Geographic among other national publications.
