Come with your best singing voices

Karaoke, a followup session by popular demand....

This Meetup is for those who missed the first Karaoke session and for all of us who couldn't get enough the first time!  Once again, you are welcome to try singing (with or without the microphone) or just listen.  A Japanese-style Karaoke booth (Maximum 8 people) is booked for 6-8pm Sunday November 17th at Voice Box.  It is a private sound-proof suite exclusively for our group only, with an impressive sound system and scrolling lyrics.  Voice Box charges $4 per person per hour ($8 for the 2 hour session).

VoiceBox has a huge list of songs in several languages (see

) and you can vary the pitch and speed of the music to suite yourself.  From our recent session, Peter, Paul and Mary and The Beatles seemed to be good songs to warm up on together, so we'll probably start with those again.  We can sing solo, duets or ensembles (Irish Pub style), so please browse the list in advance and bring your requests with you.

Dinner option, 'Sansai' at 5pm

If you plan to also join us beforehand at 5pm for dinner at the Sansai Japanese restaurant (539 Northwest 21st Avenue) next door to VoiceBox, please mention it when you reply so we can reserve a suitably sized table.  Sansai offers a wide range of cooked Japanese foods, in addition to  Sushi.

Alternatively, you can order food in the booth at Voice Box from 6pm onwards.  Voice Box serves a blend of Japanese and pub food with sake and other drinks, see

.  Food and drinks are reasonably priced, and you can bring your own bottle of Sake, etc. for a $12 corkage fee.  Happy hour is until 7pm with $1 off all drinks and menu items.

Voice Box is at 2112 NW Hoyt at 21st Ave, Portland, OR 97210.  Local street parking is free with no restrictions on Sundays.  If you are arriving by MAX, Voice Box is only 10 minutes walk from the Jeld Wen or Kings Hill/SW Salmon St. stops (Red and Blue lines).
