Panel Discussion with Science Writers of NY: Why Science is Still a Boys' Club

This event is being co-sponsored with Science Writers in New York (SWINY) and is FREE to both SWINY and MetroNY AWIS members!!

Join the Science Writers in New York (SWINY), MetroNY AWIS and the NYU Chemistry Club Graduate Student Organization for a panel discussion on the book The Only Woman in The Room: Why Science is Still a Boys' Club, to be launched in September 2015.

Featuring panelists:

Eileen Pollack, author of the book

Clara Moskowitz,  associate editor for Scientific American

Dr. Valerie Purdie-Vaughns, psychology professor at Columbia University

The panel will be moderated by Kelley Remole, Ph.D., Director of Governance, Research Support, and Outreach at Columbia University’s Zuckerman Mind Brain Behavior Institute. 

Books will be available for purchase and for signing!

Light refreshments will be provided. 

This event is FREE for SWINY and MetroNY AWIS members, but we ask for a $15 refundable deposit to secure your spot. This deposit will be refunded to you immediately after event attendance.

Non-members: $15 registration fee.
