    • What we'll do This talk includes a general overview of various non-dilutive government funding/programs to support entrepreneurship in BC. The presentation will specifically go further into details of Mitacs programs and how they can be leveraged to decrease the investment risk of R&D activities for entrepreneurs. At the end of the session, you will be familiar with multiple government-funded agencies and you can plan your fundraising activities easier by knowing more how to maximize your non-dilutive funding. WHO Presenter: Yaser Roshan, MITACS After finishing his studies at Simon Fraser Universities and getting involved in a couple of startup ventures, Yaser joined a small university in Pennsylvania as an Assistant Professor in Electrical Engineering. After a couple of years living in U.S., he decided to come back to Vancouver and become more involved in business development activities. As an entrepreneur, he has experienced the financial issues that many startups struggle within their first years. Therefore, joining Mitacs as a Director of Business Development seemed the best opportunity to help startup companies to raise funds while being focused on their R&D activities and utilize their resources effectively. Currently, Yaser's role is not only to support startup companies, but to also develop partnerships with larger (potentially multi-national) enterprises to form sector-specific ecosystems for local talent to succeed.
