Are you interested in launching a cannabusiness in Massachusetts? We are seeking to gather like minded people to exchange ideas, offer support, and network. We are also working toward developing a Cannabis Business Incubator program. Especially interested in Social Equity and Economic Empowerment candidates.

Demystifying Cannabis - Learn Massachusetts' Regulations - FRAMINGHAM

This is the 1st installment of a series to help get you started along the pathway to a license. Each session will be dinner plus 90 minutes of training. Price does NOT include dinner. Attendance is limited! Understanding the Regulations (Retail): Cannabis attorney Laury Lucian will walk us through the regs, cover to cover, help us understand what they mean, and what’s important to know, and will discuss retail specific regulations. This first session is in Framingham. On March 5th we’ll do it again in Worcester with a focus on Cultivation and Craft licenses; on March 12th we’ll host it in Boston with a focus on manufacturing regs. You will need: either a laptop with the regs in a file so you can take notes, or print the regs on 8 1/2 x 14 paper and bring a highlighter and a pen. We will announce dates and times for: 1. Understanding zoning, finding a space, securing local approval 2. Developing a pitch deck 3. Incorporating, tax considerations, securing a tax ID# (DIY or not) There is a nominal fee to cover material costs, speaker meals, and to assure people who sign up, show up. The fee DOES NOT include your meal. Attorney Laury C. Lucien is an expert in the cannabis sector. She earned her J.D. from Suffolk Law School and a Bachelor’s Degree from UMass. She is a member of the Massachusetts Recreational Consumer Council Board of Advisors. She teaches Cannabis Law at Suffolk Law as an adjunct professor. Laury is known within the local cannabis community for helping emerging entrepreneurs. We are fortunate to have her assistance!

Demystifying Cannabis - Creating a Pitch Deck - FRAMINGHAM

Another in our series... this session will teach you what a pitch deck is, how to develop a presentation that effectively tells the story of your business, plus how to deliver a presentation that will be powerful and effective. Bring a pad of paper, a pen, and a laptop. You may leave with the first draft of the deck complete. The weekend before the event we will send a short list of questions to help you think through what you'll need to know about your business to create that deck. About our presenter: Beth Goldstein teaches marketing and entrepreneurship at Babson College, Isenberg School of Management (UMass), and Tec. Monterrey (Mexico). She has been working with small business owners to develop sustainable sales, marketing, and business growth initiatives for over 20 years. Beth's training firm, Edge Institute, is one of seven companies approved by the Cannabis Control Commission to train social equity cannapreneurs.
