The joint Texas Freethought Convention/Atheist Alliance of America is now open for registration! Our theme: “From Grassroots to Global Impact.“  Three days of presentations, workshops, and networking, encouraging, community building and local activism. Highlights include:
  • PZ Myers is opening Friday, so get to the hotel Thursday night

  • TWO presentations by Michael Shermer on Friday

  • Opening on Saturday with Sean Faircloth, followed by Eugenie Scott and Dale McGowan
  • Plated banquet and keynote by Richard Dawkins on Saturday evening
  • Presentation of the Richard Dawkins Award for Freethinker of the Year to Christopher Hitchens*
  • Barbara Forrest and Elizabeth Cornwell on Sunday Morning;
  • “Special” session with Richard Dawkins Sunday afternoon.

Other activities include:
  • The Secular Student Alliance will be conducting a Leadership Seminar during the Convention break-out sessions.  We offer a reduced rate for SSA.
  • There will be a mini-film fest running throughout the weekend, including independent films shown at the Freethought Film Festival.  Several filmmakers will be present to introduce the film and answer questions.
  • Richard Dawkins Foundation will run a Day Care for children ages 0-5, including an area for nursing mothers.
  • Annual Blood drive.
  • The League of Women Voters will conduct a Voter registration.
