Hello Metroplex Atheists!

The secular students in DFW have been hard at work getting the 2013 North Texas Secular Convention awesome and ready to go! This year's convention will be at the University of Texas at Dallas on February 8-10.

On Friday (2/8) and Saturday (2/9), we'll be having speakers, entertainment, a live podcast show, and a panel discussion. We're also in talks to bring a blood drive and charity work with an LGBT organization on Saturday. On Sunday (2/10), we'll be holding workshops to improve both on and off campus organizations. We'll have workshops on fundraising, media relations, lobbying, and more.

Members of the Secular Student Alliance will get in for free. That means any student of any school can get free admission, as well as any supporters and donors of the SSA. For everyone else, tickets for the whole weekend start at $25, Saturday only at $15, and Friday/Sunday at $10. Ticket prices go up on 1/5, so get your tickets now!

We will also need lots and lots of volunteers to help make the convention run smoothly. We'll need people for driving and hosting speakers as well as staffing tables during the convention. Volunteers get free admission!

You can find all of this information and more at. A few highlights:

Since this is a multi-day event, we have partnered with the Doubletree Hilton on 75 and Campbell to provide rooms for some speakers and guests at a great rate. If you don't feel like making the drive to Richardson every day, staying at the hotel is sure to be a blast. There's also a Fox and Hound pub right across the street! Find all the information about how to get a room at the group rate at

It's sure to be an awesome weekend. Be there! Spread the word! Give us money! Volunteer! Something else!

So is the event at the same place as the Hotel or is it just close by?
