DAZ-PROGRAM: EXHIBITION OPENING: OCCUPY WALLSTREET/OCCUPY BOSTON
With an English introduction by curator X Bonnie Woods (Berlin/Boston). Entrance is free.
By late September 2011 the Occupy Wall Street protest against the wealth gap quickly grew to other large cities and economic centers, such as Boston, Massachusetts. Optimistic and peaceful, “Occupy Boston” was fueled by donations of money, materials and equipment. These selfgoverning and diverse occupiers settled a tent city in the heart of the downtown Boston Financial District. Despite the dismantling of the tent city by police, the impact of the occupiers’ actions to confront issues of increasing economic disparity continues today. The exhibition includes documentation by professional and amateur photographers from diverse viewpoints.
