What we're about

This is a Board Game Group for grown-ups to get together to have some fun playing board games and enjoying a beverage or two. The group plays “Euro/German” style games, as well as any traditional non-elimination games like Scrabble, Yahtzee, or card games. The group is also open to making jig-saw puzzles.

Euro-style games emphasize strategy while downplaying luck and conflict. They keep all the players in the game until it ends. Typically it is not clear who will win until the final points are tallied, and points are not earned at the expense of others. These games can be learned relatively quickly.

The organizer has limited Euro-style games, but will bring a variety. Feel free to bring your own, as well. We will play whatever people bring. Games will be taught as needed, so play something familiar or learn something new! Some typical games the group has played include:

• Carcassonne
• Ticket to Ride
• Bohnanza
• Settlers of Catan

Our meetings are held on Sunday afternoons at the Battle Road Brewhouse in Maynard. They have a good line-up of beer that they brew and food cooked on premises. Food and drink are optional. Look for us toward the back of the dining room.

Come and enjoy a Sunday afternoon with us!
