What we're about

All are welcome! All sexes, ages and levels!

We offer an introduction to volleyball. A few places for pick up games and lessons too!

For the most part, this group plays volleyball at a higher level than what you would run into at a company, church, or family picnic. Bump, Set, Spike is the goal even if it does not always happen.

Since we have been around since 2006, many of our meetups just happen without relying on RSVPs, but please RSVP anyways.

Pace Park is downtown.

Volleyball Meetup in Coconut Grove on Sundays

Location visible to members

We meet at 3pm. We usually use two nets: Teams are made up of 4 people, at least one girl per team. Net 1: Is the challenge net, if your team wins here, you advance to net 2. We are a little more relaxed on some rules at this net. Net 2: Is our "winning" net. If your team won on the challenge net, you play here. The winner of this game will stay on the court. Whenever games are to 15, there is a 4 game limit. (1 on the challenge net, 3 on the "winning" net.) All teams should have at least one girl. We usually play to 21, but when we have a large turnout, games are played to 15 points. Parking: Free large parking lot south of the courts, smaller parking lot to the north. Don't park on Bayshore Drive, they give tickets. If the lots are full, turn at the light just south of the small lot and you can park on the street on these blocks.

Learn 2v 2 Beach Volleyball (Beginners or Experienced: 1 net each)

Learn to play Beach Volleyball! It is one of the most fun and fastest growing sports in America! You will learn the following skills: Pass to target. Master the powerful overhand serve! Set with "clean hands". Learn where to be and how to read the hitter on defense. Volleyball is far from natural. Players need to learn how to do it right so they reinforce bad habits. Just say “NO” to jungle ball! This class is for players who want to know how to play the correct way. Maybe you never had a coach or knew the right way to hit the ball. You are not alone. Come improve through drills and hard work! The class is only $15 per session, but needs a 4 lesson commitment a total of $60. You can skip a week, depending on your busy schedule. Classes DON”T need to be consecutive. Text me or call me with any questions. Coach Josh (305)[masked]. Once again, the sessions are $15 per day but we need a commitment of 4 sessions. If you are not sure, please come to the first class for FREE! You will be able to witness the quality instruction we provide, the cool people you meet, and the tough workout that you get. INVEST IN YOUR GAME! We think your friends will notice how much you have improved next time you step on the court. Thanks! Please pay via Meetup or Venmo. Josh[masked] Text or call
