Please join us to share your knowledge and experiences. We are open to anyone interested in the history and development of MicroComputer hardware and software from 1975 to NOW. We will re-visit the past and remember revolutionary changes during the last 45 years. We will learn from Old-Timers and New Comers who will share their memories of their first microcomputer experiences.
We will join webinars, hear and share stories about first generation microcomputers like the First Microcomputer Kit, featured on the cover page of Popular Electronics magazine, January 1975. We will watch a short YouTube video clip and hear Bill Gates tell his experience in writing the BASIC programming language for the Altair 8800 and the beginnings of Micro-Soft corporation.
We will hear about many other microcomputer systems developed in the late 1970's like the Apple ][, Commodore PET, Radio Shack TRS-80. and TI-99-4. We will follow the development of dial-up BBS (Bulletin Board Systems) and early email offerings long before the availability of the internet and world wide web.
In future sessions we will follow the progress of microcomputer hardware and software in the 70's, 80's and 90's, We will understand the development of social networks, creation of large online shopping sites like eBay and amazon.
We will also learn about our modern day experimenters kits, like arduino and raspberry pi platforms.
We will see that opportunities still exist today as we witness a revolutionary change to our world wide monetary systems by NEW Digital currencies exchanged over an Open Source, decentralized, BlockChain Network. These new currencies are sometimes called CryptoCurrency.
