The plan is to fire up the grills at about 11:00 am at the marked tables within the park. We will have dogs and burgers with all the fixing's, baked beans, and the obligatory chips. We will also have a few veggie burgers, but if you have a particular preference, we recommend you bring your own, and we will grill it up for you.
Please contact Kellie at [masked] or Mike at [masked] if you are interested in bringing something to share or even better, to contribute some of your time as we could certainly use a few volunteers to help us set up! Due to our massive growth spree over the past year, we expect our biggest turnout ever, yay!
This celebration also marks our second year since transitioning from a trail club to an official IRS designated non-profit 501(c)(3) public charity! Now, your donations are tax deductible! Our programs are starting to receive the much needed financial support they require from generous donations from members and businesses. Now MAHG can make even a more significant impact on the lives of our local communities through our speaker series, educational courses, and our hikes that make the heath benefits of hiking available to as many people as possible. MAHG is launching programs specifically focused on transporting under-represented youth out onto the trails for the "health of it". MAHG also educates older children regarding the many job opportunities that exist in the natural world, providing hope for a better tomorrow and beyond! MAHG has a lot to be thankful for this year, so we want to show you, our fellow volunteers, members, and supporters, our appreciation for making it all possible. Please join us in celebrating ten years of our combined efforts that have made serving our mission a reality. Since our founding ten years ago, thanks to our all volunteer efforts, MAHG has organized and hosted over 4700 hikes and outdoor events for our 21K active members. Moving forward as a charitable origination, we continue as we have while expanding our community building efforts to include more outreach and educational programs and much much more. Please reach out and be part of this exciting time and our timely mission. As an all-volunteer organization, we rely on passionate and qualified members of the community every step of the way.
$10.00 Per Vehicle Pass. Good for three consecutive days for one vehicle, including motorcycles, in Great Falls Park and C&O Canal National Historical Park in Maryland.

Mid-Atlantic Hiking Group (MAHG) values fellowship, camaraderie and practicing good hike etiquette and Leave No Trace principles. As a member-focused and mission-driven charitable organization, our hikes are led by generous, dedicated, and qualified MAHG members who volunteer as hike leaders for MAHG's leadership team. Hikes also have a volunteer “sweeper”, to help ensure that no hiker is left behind. Our volunteers and members are very supportive, encouraging, and always focus on safety, all while enjoying excellent camaraderie, the many health benefits of hiking, and unplugging from the stress of day to day life. Sharing what we know and learning from each other is an important part of our core values, as is our dedication to the conservation of our natural resources and our commitment to the organization's mission. Mid-Atlantic Hiking Group is a volunteer supported tax-exempt 501(c)(3) nonprofit charity, and donations ARE tax deductible. Tax ID: [masked].
